Stylophora Noire

Enameled Stoneware

13.4" x 12.6" x 9.5"

Artist: Marik Korus

In her studio in Charente-Maritime, Marik is always seeking to go further in the creation of her porcelain pieces. The meaning of this quest is to continuously offer more to the observer. With each new look, a new element or a different interpretation is realized. Rounded shapes and curves have a family resemblance but each has its own character, and the adorning elements make them unique. A technique involving meticulous patience gives each piece an unparalleled richness. Hours spent modeling the clay give birth to incredible membranes, pipes, waves, creases and wrinkles. Each piece almost breathes, a poetic wandering in the white purity of porcelain.
